The Condo Family purchased the property at Swan Reach in 1981 and in the mid 1990’s established a vineyard concentrating on the major red wine varieties Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot and Chardonnay as their flagship white wine.
Swan Reach is located on the River Murray, along which are based Australia’s largest concentration of vineyards. These regions have been responsible for Australia’s emergence as the most influential New World wine producer.
The Condo family has placed great emphasis on selecting the right clones of vines to reflect the best attributes of these varieties to create wines of the very highest quality. Swan Reach has excellent climatic conditions to grow grapes with a long dry growing period and supplementary water supplies to support the winter rains.
Complementing our passion for the vineyard, the same meticulous approach is followed in the wine making with individual batches treated with the care and attention demanded for such limited quantities. The subtle use of oak and maturation result in seamless wines expressing both fruit and structure.
While wines have been produced from the vineyard in the past, in 2006 the Condo Family embarked upon the objective to take the wines further in quality by strategically analysing the strengths of the brands and ensuring that they produced.
All the red wines from 2013 vintage display ripe fruit freshness, but the Cabernet Sauvignon was a late blossom. Subtle maturation with American oak provided additional structure and complexity.
With additional aging the wine has released beautiful blackcurrant and floral characters.
This is a medium bodied Australian Shiraz made as a perfect accompaniment to a range of meats – lamb, pork and beef.

Despite being a problematic vintage the Cabernet Sauvignon grapes we hand selected have resulted in a very elegant wine.

Fruit freshness is the most immediate experience tasting the Merlot grapes in the vineyard prior to picking and the freshness lingered on during fermentation and bottling.
We make a Merlot with predominant fruit flavour and soft tannins being paramount in the winemaking philosophy. The flavours of summer with a lifted mid palate of plums was our aim for a style that while great drinking now will provide added complexity over the next 3 to 4 years.
The fleshy grapes in the vineyard were reminiscent of pear, melon and citrus flavours prior to picking. And to capture the freshness we picked at the optimum balance between flavour ripeness and natural acid levels.
Names after the family patriarch, we think Nonno Fortunato would be proud.

We make Chardonnay with vibrant colour and flavour and not submerged by oak. Pure fruit flavours and a lively fresh finish on the palate.
